We had a lovely time in your glorious region. The simple gems like kayaking the pretty river Vezere from St Leon, cooking the BBQ for the 14 of us chez vous using local produce, visiting Marius the donkey at Le Moustier during a fun terrace meal at Napoleonienne. Oh, and strolling scenic St Genies and St Amand de Coly, both recommended by you, enjoying very much the new PIP, gardens at Eyrignac, and the clinging villages beside the Dordogne escarpments.
Another activity literally on the doorstep and within view of your *** home was La Roque St Christophe. We all agreed that this living museum was not to be missed.
To be able to call Le Manoir des Granges our home for a week was a perfect holiday in every way. It is also very cost effective per couple.
The accommodation provided a bathroom of their own for every one of the seven couples that made up our party, over the main house and Tobacco barn.
We had ample outdoor and indoor living space to all socialise together, a pool which we unexpectedly did use in the third week of September because the weather was good, and the appreciated washing machine and clothesline, with the added help of running off on an excursion and having Philippa kindly put the clothes on the line!
That is well beyond the call of duty, as was phoning restaurants for us, running up to close all bedroom windows when an unexpected hailstorm came, and advice on hidden gems so thank-you again Philippa and Paul, it did not go unnoticed.

In June 2014 a group of eight of us enjoyed a week in the main house at Le Manoir des Granges. It suited us perfectly and we used all six bedrooms, which are very comfortable and well equipped, as is the rest of this lovely house. It is situated in the most beautiful spot, right opposite Roque St. Christophe, and we had daily flying displays from the peregrine falcons which were nesting there, as well as being serenaded every night by the nightingales in the woods nearby. The weather was just about perfect and the pool so inviting that we didn’t see nearly as many of the local attractions, of which there are a plethora, as we had intended. We did manage to visit a couple of the wonderful local markets, Rocamadour – not to be missed, and various caves and gardens in the vicinity. We also enjoyed an idyllic and delicious lunch at Le Dejeuner sur l’Herbe on the banks of the river at St. Leon sur Vezere. There was so much to see and do in fact, the house was so comfortable, and Paul and Philippa so welcoming and helpful, that we have just booked in again for another week next June, and we can’t wait!

We spent 5 days in the Haybarn in mid April whilst house hunting in the area. It was a wonderful place to stay. We were made to feel very welcome and Paul and Philippa were excellent hosts - helpful and thoughtful. The gite itself was comfortable, very clean, well appointed and private. We love this area - the countryside, Montignac, the Vezere river and the numerous restaurants. In fact as a result of our visit we are buying a farmhouse not far from Montignac! I thoroughly recommend Le Manoir des Granges and would not hesitate to return. Bernie and Kathy

We have enjoyed a lot at Tobacco Barn in particular and the Dordogne area in general. The only bad thing was that it was only 3 days. My friends, my wife and me were very happy and we think that your home is a very recommended place to spend time in the Dordogne. We want to say thank you too for their nice treat.

We had a family get-together in the largest gite (Main House) and found it excellent for our needs. It is spacious, well appointed and beautifully situated with much to do and see in the near vicinity. Philippa and Paul were on hand and very helpful with a couple of bottles of wine and a bowl of walnuts to welcome us. Would recommend it.
