'Mid August 2015 saw a family group arriving at Le Manoir Des Granges for a week's holiday. Ages ranging from one year to seventy two made for a challenging range of needs - and catering. No probs! The accommodation suited us perfectly - especially as each room has its own bath/shower room. Grandparents on the top floor meant that we had peace and quiet and could retire to our room when such was needed... All equipment and facilities were very good eg 2 fridges, 2 ovens, plenty of kitchen storage, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer etc. The good sized and well maintained swimming pool was safely fenced off and very popular with all.
Our hosts were exceptionally helpful - both prior to our arrival and during the stay - booking a hotel for the Friday night and also the Font de Gaume cave visit. During our stay they came up with good suggestions for activities due to not the best weather!
We all enjoyed our stay. Activities close by were made good use of - cycle hire, canoeing and cave visiting topped the popularity stakes. Not to mention the two day marathon Monopoly game. And one of the best things was when a first- time teenager visitor to France started a sentence with 'When we go to France next time...'
Thank you Philippa and Paul'

We just wanted to thank Paul and Philippa for a wonderful holiday. The Haybarn was great for us:2 adults and 2 dogs. The private terrace meant we could let the dogs stroll in and out of the Barn at their leisure, whilst we took in the sun. Also the fields next to the Barn and the river a short stroll away, meant they were really spoilt. We loved the close proximately of the accommodation to many attractions and there were so many walks and restaurant's to choose from. We will be back

We love to stay in a vacation rental hosted by persons who care about their place and who take pride in giving maximum pleasure to their guests. Paul and Philippa welcomed us warmly and made sure that each of our vacation day was pleasurable. The gite, the Walnut House, was spacious and comfortable.
The location was perfect to reach many beautiful sights in the Dordogne area.
We had a wonderful time.

A group of seven of us stayed at Le Manoir des Granges. We were pleasantly welcomed by Phillipa and Paul who were very helpful and full of information throughout our stay. We were all pleasantly surprised by the spacious and comfortable house. We chose this location because it seemed well situated as a base to explore the region, but after seeing the well appointed house I think each of us decided we must take time of from sightseeing Just to enjoy the house and it's facilities,
There seemed nothing not to like and relaxing next to the pool watching the birds occasionally dip down for a quick drink I felt I needed longer there.

We are a family of 5 (children 15, 13 and 9). we were fortunate to stay at the Main House and to enjoy the generous hospitality of Philippa and Paul, the owners. The house itself is outstanding - still has the ambience of an old farm house built in late 19 century. the house features greatly equipped kitchen for small breakfast or fancy dinner - we did breakfast every morning and cooked two dinners with produce we picked at local markets. The rooms are specious, very clean and well equipped. The swimming pool is well maintained, with clear, clean water (Paul maintains daily). The location is second to none - patisserie for your fresh baguette is 2 min drive in the nearby village, several good restaurants in St Leon sur Vezere, 5 min away, canoeing on the Vezere is around the corner, and so are many other "must see" destinations are within 30 min drive max. The real treat is the genuine, generous, open and friendly hospitality of the owners - Philippa and Paul. they were full of great and practical advices and went out of their way to address all our questions and requests. They are British, refreshingly fluent English spoken, which made directions, instructions and general communication flow easily. It was a great week for all of us and we are already planning our next stay. If you are heading to the Dordogne - this is where you need to stay! Highly recommended!

My legs were weary, having ridden my bicycle daily since Barcelona. My ears were weary, straining to discern the few words and phrases in French I had learned. The sign, "English spoken" was the magnet that drew me to turn into the drive at Le Manoir des Granges.
The comfort, the surroundings, the personality of the owners, was the magnet that drew me back three weeks later, this time with my wife and 12 year-old grand daughter.
If you are searching for places in the Dordogne you surely know the area is filled with world class prehistoric and medieval sites and settlements. Scores of them. Paul and Philippa's place is nestled in the heart the region; central to all. La Roque Saint Christopher seems a logical first-morning starting point to the Dordogne experience because it's only a short walk across the bridge to step back centuries in this UNESCO World Heritage site.... within view of your patio!
The units are very comfortable and well appointed. The hosts are thoroughly knowledgeable and generous with information and suggestions and they are genuine in their hospitality. We extended our stay and would love to return.
