We stayed here 2 nights. The Roque Terrace felt large and comfortable for two people. The kitchen is nicely stocked with basic cooking equipment and ingredients. As hikers without a car, Paul and Philippa brought in some breakfast items for us and booked us into a couple restaurants within walking distance. When one of the restaurants closed without warning for the evening of our reservation, Paul drove us to a nearby town for dinner and picked us up afterward. both were readily available and happy to help us figure out how best to enjoy our time in the area.

We had a most enjoyable week in the Roque Terrace. The gite was very well equipped with beautiful views. The pool was an added bonus and we mostly had it to ourselves. Paul and Philippa were very sociable and couldn’t do enough for us. There is plenty to do locally...we enjoyed visiting a chateau, cycling, walking and kayaking and of course sampling the lovely local restaurants. Thoroughly recommend staying here.

We spent two fabulous weeks in the Haybarn. It was very spacious and comfortable and we loved the private patio which was so well equipped with chairs, table and sun loungers. The pool area was lovely and a great facility for when the weather is warm and sunny. The view of La Roque St Christophe could be seen from our bedroom window and the patio. a 15 minute walk took us to the site and it was very interesting to walk around and discover how life on the Rocque was like. Paul and Phillipa are great hosts and always around if you want them but very unobtrusive. They both gave us good tips on where to eat, visit, walk etc. The location is perfect as there are so many places to visit within 10 minutes to an hours drive away. They booked us our first meal at the village restaurant La Table de Moustier which was excellent and only 8 minutes walk from the site. The Boulangerie was within 5 mins walk and it was a real bonus to be able to visit it each morning for breakfast pastries and bread. Paul and Phillipa could not do enough for us and we can recommend the Haybarn and are hoping to return in the future. Thank you to you bot.

What a dream of a holiday we had at Le Manoir des Granges. We stayed in the Walnut Store which was perfect for the two of us. The bed was comfortable, the living and dining area was spacious and the kitchen had everything possible that you would need, and the bathroom was spotless. We ate at Le Table de Moustier on two occasions and wow! What fantastic food, don't forget to book your table or you will miss a treat. We send a big thank you to Philippa and Paul for sharing their wonderful home with us, not to mention booking tables, giving advice on places to visit and for making sure we had every comfort possible. Our first time in France and we couldn't have chosed a better place to stay. :o)

Thank you so much Paul and Phillipa for being such wonderful hosts when we stayed with you this spring. The tobacco barn was very comfortable and the three ensuite bedrooms gave us the privacy and comfort we were looking for. The pool was an additional delight and the kitchen well equipped. We also appreciated the washing macnine.

Spent a lovely week with our family at Le Manoir des Granges at the beginning of August. We stayed in The Main House which was perfect and very French without being basic (as a lot of French accommodation can be). It also has the wonderful advantage of having all bedrooms ensuite. We spent many lazy days by the pool but also took advantage of exploring the beautiful countryside including canoeing which is available almost on the doorstep. Paul and Philippa are around if you need them but very unobtrusive and very kindly contacted us about a necklace left behind by my niece in order to post it on to her. A perfect place for a peaceful family get together.

We have just returned from a wonderful fortnight at the Roque Terrace. There is so much to see and do in the Vezere valley, and we were so comfortable at this gite that we could have stayed for another two weeks!
Paul and Philippa ensured that the place would be suitable for me, as I have considerable mobility problems, and they were also very helpful with advice about the locality.
The gite overlooks the *** Roque Saint-Christophe, which is quite something at night when it is lit up.
The location was very convenient for sightseeing, and the roads were quiet. It was a great bonus having a boulangerie and an excellent restaurant in walking/mobility scootering distance.
The weather was very hot during our stay, and we were grateful that the gite was cool due to the old stone walls.
We hope to return next year.

Had a lovely stay in Roque cottage. Very friendly hosts with lots of local knowledge. Great location with lots to see and do in the area. Most things have already been covered in previous reviews. If you want a clean, comfortable stay this is the place for you.

We had a wonderful stay in Haybarn for 3 nights while we visited the stunning prehistoric caves in Les Eyzies-de-Tayac , Font–de-Gaume and Combarelles and La Roque Saint Christophe which we could see from our house, lit up at night and a lovely walk across to. It was a lovely time of year to visit and be in the natural beauty surrounding the house and walking alongside the river Vézère. After driving all day from Dieppe we were tired and pleased to just walk to the village shop which stocked all that we needed to cook an evening meal, which we enjoyed with a great wood burning fire in the living room. There was everything we needed for self catering and it was lovely to walk to the shop to get fresh bread and croissants for breakfast, eating on our quiet terrace. Phillipa and Paul were very friendly and helpful. A wonderful place to stay, we will come again.

My wife and I spent 4 nights here in late April 2017 - the Haybarn is large, self-contained (breakfast excluded) with washing facilities, English TV channels.........and the MOST comfortable bed and great pressure shower. Directly opposite is La roque St Christophe which is a must see. Approx 25 mins drive to Sarlat and a good base to everywhere else in the area. Paul & Phillipa are extremely helpful and do everything to ensure that you have a pleasant stay. They recommended a great local restaurant which is in walking distance (5 minutes) - La Table du Moustier, and we went there on the 2 consecutive nights that they were open. Great food, great hosts and huge portions - we needed to walk home after the 3 course meal. There is a Boulangerie nearby for daily baguettes and requirements. Definitely need a vehicle for this location, and it is family friendly also. So glad we chose this gite.
