We stayed in La Roque Terrasse for two weeks from end of June to early July 2011.
A lovely accomodation in a very british style - we loved it very much. Everything was perfect!
We were also very lucky with the weather, up to 43 degrees Celsius. So Paul and Philippa, once again we want to thank you for the opportunity to use the big pool !
No question, the Dordogne and Vezere area is one of the most beautiful countrysides in France. It was very hard to leave.....
So all in all we really enjoyed out stay in Le Manoir des Granges. May be that we will come back in a few years.
Greetings from Germany,
Thomas & Steffi.

We stayed in the Haybarn for 1 week commencing Saturday June 25th 2011. The property was very well equipped, clean and spacious and the patio area gets the sun all day long. The view of La Roque de Christophe is amazing. The swimming pool was also very clean and very refreshing as the temperatures soared that week. Paul and Phillipa are very helpful and always happy to offer advice. We were shown around all the properties and would not hesitate in recommending any of them. We were in the region for 2 weeks, staying in St. Emillion for 2 nights before our week in the Haybarn and then 3 nights nr Brantome and the last 2 nights in Eymet, all great places to stay. We spent most of our week at the Haybarn relaxing by the pool or playing boules, but did venture out to visit Sarlat on market day. Manoir de Gisson in Sarlat is well worth a visit but it is not for the faint hearted as it has an exhibition of torture instruments. We also hired a kayak from St Leon to Tursac (about 8Km) which takes you right past Le Manoir des Granges and La Roque de Christophe which we would recommend. All in all a great holiday and place to stay.

We were told about Le Manoir des Granges and saw it online, as soon as we saw the location and the pictures of the house we knew we had to visit.
A group of us planned our trip for a week in May, flying to Brive airport and picking up hire cars from there.
The Manoir was just an hour drive from the airport and through some very beautiful countryside but nothing was to compare to what we found when we pulled up to Le Manoir des Granges...it was stunning.
We stayed in the house but we also got to have a glimpse into the gites, everywhere you turned it was clean, tidy, well equipped and bursting with rustic French charm.
The location was perfect, central for the Vezere valley. During our visit we went to Sarlat market, La Roque St Christophe (which has a tremendous view of Le Manoir des Granges and vice versa!), we canoed down the Vezere, visited Montignac, drank lots of lovely local wine and ate lots and lots of AMAZING food!!!!
Paul and Philippa couldn't have done more for us during our stay, so helpful with local information and always pointed us in the right direction...a big thank you to you both!
We didn't want to leave and we are already planning our next holiday here.

Our family of nine from Australia, spanning three generations, stayed in this fabulous house in April 2011. It was perfect for our needs. The six bedrooms meant everyone who needed their own bedroom could have one, and each room had their own bathroom (luxury). The huge dining table and well equipped kitchen meant that we could all comfortably eat together and we prepared most of our meals at home. There is so much space in and around the house that we hardly saw our younger children (6 and 8 years). They even braved the pool in April, though I confess the weather was unseasonably warm. And Philippa and Paul were such excellent hosts, very helfpul and approachable. This made navigating the area so much easier. We loved the Dordogne. Each day we found it more enchanting. There were many fun and different things to do and places to explore, as well as spectacular scenery and beautiful walks.
Thank you to Philippa and Paul for having us to stay in their house. We would highly recommend it.

What can I say....everything was perfect!! Paul and Philippa made us so welcome, the gîte was amazing, very traditional, with such a lovely view of La Roque St Christophe. As a cyclist I found the area fantastic, miles and miles of quiet roads with picture perfect scenery, chateaux, hamlets of ochre stone, undulating valleys and lazy meandering rivers. I even got up at 5am just to cycle past La Roque St Christophe just to soak up the atmosphere. The weather was perfect too!! Thank you so much Paul and Philippa for such a memorable holiday....we will be back!!

We, 9 men from Germany, rented Le Manoir des Granges (Main House and Tobacco Barn) in May 2011 for one week. We had 9 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom.
These rooms were in a very good condition, also the living rooms, the dining rooms and the kitchens, which were well equipped. So we could prepare our common meals without any problems.
Because the weather was very fine, we could sit outside each evening and enjoy the fantastic view to Roque St. Christophe.
Le Manoir des Granges was a good starting point for our different activities like golfing, cycling, canoeing on the Vezere and visiting historical monuments, towns and castles in this
fascinating area. Those, who sometimes wanted to relax at home, had a calm place at the pool inside the garden.
Paul and Philippa were excellent hosts, because they act reserved, but if we needed any help or information we could get them in a very short time in a very friendly manner.
Be sure, we will come back !

We had the pleasure of visiting at Paul and Phillipa's last month. We were giving the place a once over before we have our wedding blessing there in September. We were pleasantly surprised of the standard of the Gites. We new they would be good, but the quality and style was magnificent. Our guests will love them!

I was lucky enough to stay with Paul and Philippa at Le Manoir during February 2011. I couldn’t have asked for nicer hosts or accommodation. The house itself is very spacious and full of charm and very comfortable even in the depths of winter, the log fire really sets the scene on chilly winter evenings. The house is set in the Dordogne countryside with stunning views across the valley to La Roque Saint Christophe. Although the area is quiet in February there is a local boulangerie and bar/restaurant in the village, both within walking distance of the house. There are some beautiful walks around the area and surrounding villages. Paul and Philippa are wonderful hosts and will ensure your stay is excellent and will be able to fill you in on lots of interesting local facts. I very much look forward to visiting again.

Nick and I stayed at the Hay Barn at Payzac Le Moustier In January 2011. Although still in the winter months Paul and Philippa made us extremely welcome,to the extent of providing provisions and preparing a meal on our arrival late in the evening. The Haybarn itself was comfortable spacious and warm with adequate crockery and cooking facilities for our stay. The Haybarn was clean, presentable and the bathroom had a super shower (and bath) with heaps of hot water. Beds were comfy and choice of Pillows both feather and synthetic We had a nice view over the swimming pool although not recommended in early January there was also a nice patio area where we sat and drank a glass of wine or two in the winter sun. Paul and Philippa were always ready to help us with our little daily needs including maps and a glossary of the local area. I hope they will let us stay again on our next venture to Peyzac Le Moustier . Thankyou very much Paul and Philippa
