Our group of nine adults spent the week of Sept. 17th-24th in the Main House. The house was large enough to comfortably accommodate the group. All of the group especially appreciated the large bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms. The dining table was our favorite place for the whole group to gather to share our daily adventures.
The location was perfect to explore the surrounding area. Also excellent restaurants, a large grocery store and bakery were within in minutes of the house.
Paul and Philippa, the most cordial of hosts were always available to suggest places to see. Their recommendation for a local tour guide to visit prehistoric caves and a chef to prepare a gourmet meal at the house delighted the group.
Thank you Paul and Philippa for sharing your lovely home and your hospitality in the beautiful Dordogne area, making our holiday truly memorable.

We travelled with friends who found this gite on line. What a great, well appointed property. Quiet, but close to heaps of places of interest. We stayed mid September for a week. What a shame we couldn't stay longer. Five stars from us for the excellent accommodation and hosts who could not have been more welcoming. Excellent weather for our time there too! Thanks Paul and Philippa.

Le Manoir des Granges was the perfect holiday destination. Such a beautiful setting! The accomodation was superb, fully equipped and with so much character. Paul and Philippa were the ideal hosts with great local knowledge and always happy to help. Highly recommended for a relaxing holiday.

This is just a note to say how much we enjoyed staying at your lovely Villa with our friends. We were in the group that visited 17-24 September and we stayed in Le Roque. It was perfect for us as my spouse has had knee surgery and she cannot manage stairs.
I cannot imagine all the work it takes to manage such a large place, but we wanted to let you both know that from our perspective it was all worth it. And as for the dinner with Edwin on Friday night, we can only say Wow! We will not forget our wonderful week at your home and have been telling all our friends.

We were enchanted by our stay in the Dordogne and your home.
We appreciate your gift and all the little touches (wine, sponge, household products, seasoning, dry hair).
The pool was highly appreciated.

We stayed in La Roque Terrasse for two weeks from end of June to early July 2011.
A lovely accomodation in a very british style - we loved it very much. Everything was perfect!
We were also very lucky with the weather, up to 43 degrees Celsius. So Paul and Philippa, once again we want to thank you for the opportunity to use the big pool !
No question, the Dordogne and Vezere area is one of the most beautiful countrysides in France. It was very hard to leave.....
So all in all we really enjoyed out stay in Le Manoir des Granges. May be that we will come back in a few years.
Greetings from Germany,
Thomas & Steffi.

We stayed in the Haybarn for 1 week commencing Saturday June 25th 2011. The property was very well equipped, clean and spacious and the patio area gets the sun all day long. The view of La Roque de Christophe is amazing. The swimming pool was also very clean and very refreshing as the temperatures soared that week. Paul and Phillipa are very helpful and always happy to offer advice. We were shown around all the properties and would not hesitate in recommending any of them. We were in the region for 2 weeks, staying in St. Emillion for 2 nights before our week in the Haybarn and then 3 nights nr Brantome and the last 2 nights in Eymet, all great places to stay. We spent most of our week at the Haybarn relaxing by the pool or playing boules, but did venture out to visit Sarlat on market day. Manoir de Gisson in Sarlat is well worth a visit but it is not for the faint hearted as it has an exhibition of torture instruments. We also hired a kayak from St Leon to Tursac (about 8Km) which takes you right past Le Manoir des Granges and La Roque de Christophe which we would recommend. All in all a great holiday and place to stay.

We were told about Le Manoir des Granges and saw it online, as soon as we saw the location and the pictures of the house we knew we had to visit.
A group of us planned our trip for a week in May, flying to Brive airport and picking up hire cars from there.
The Manoir was just an hour drive from the airport and through some very beautiful countryside but nothing was to compare to what we found when we pulled up to Le Manoir des Granges...it was stunning.
We stayed in the house but we also got to have a glimpse into the gites, everywhere you turned it was clean, tidy, well equipped and bursting with rustic French charm.
The location was perfect, central for the Vezere valley. During our visit we went to Sarlat market, La Roque St Christophe (which has a tremendous view of Le Manoir des Granges and vice versa!), we canoed down the Vezere, visited Montignac, drank lots of lovely local wine and ate lots and lots of AMAZING food!!!!
Paul and Philippa couldn't have done more for us during our stay, so helpful with local information and always pointed us in the right direction...a big thank you to you both!
We didn't want to leave and we are already planning our next holiday here.
